Welcome to my 2013 Christmas House Tour! It’s time to see how I decked the halls, Makely-style. For those of you just joining me from my good friend Roeshel at as part of the , my style is generally an eclectic mix of mid-century modern and industrial, with bold colors and some quirky touches. But above all else, it is fun欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片 – which is the #1 requirement for any decorating piece that comes into my house.
This year, I had a bit of a decorating challenge. My big 2013 project – the de-beiging of my open floor plan living area – comes to a head next week when painters and scaffolding arrive at my house. I didn’t want to have to move a lot of Christmas decorations out of the way when they painted, so I had to be strategic about where I placed the decor.
But no worries, it all worked out and I’m just thrilled with the way my home looks right now – so happy that this post is extremely picture heavy so I could show it all to you!
Let’s start with the white Christmas tree. This was the first year for us to have a white tree, and I think it looks amazing with the brightly colored ornaments and my vintage Santa blow mold. You can see more details about the tree in this post.
欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片I couldn’t be satisfied with just one awesome tree this year. Oh, no! So, my kids got to get in on the tree action, too. In my daughter’s room, there’s a 4 ft blue tree decorated with gold accents and 12 Days of Christmas ornaments that I got from Hobby Lobby. The tree sits on my grandmother’s antique vanity.
I’m still working on getting Emma’s “big girl” room finished, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be ready for Christmas. With her help, I made a chalkboard Christmas tree garland to string across her headboard (here’s the tutorial for that garland).
My son, Zack, got a garland and tree of his own, too. His tree is bright red and decorated with hand painted snowman ornaments. For a tree topper, I added a black snowman top hat that I picked up at Party City (and they have them at the Target One Spot right now, too!).
The upstairs playroom is where the bulk of our Christmas decor is this year. In this room, I set up my vintage Evergleam Pom Pom aluminum tree. It’s decked out with old Shiny Brite ornaments in blues, white and silver.
Since my living area and most of the downstairs was off limits due to the painters, I had to get creative in the playroom. So, I turned our faux built-ins into a fake mantel for our stockings. On the shelves, I styled most of my favorite Christmas knick knacks, including the collection of my kids’ dated and framed Santa photos and some special things from my childhood.
欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片A few things about this styled bookcase really stand out to me. The first is the vintage Santa cookie jar that I found this year. Instead of holding cookies, though, it holds a tiny Christmas tree.
I also have a few items from my husband’s late grandmother. One – the Moravian Star – she gave to us when she was still living. The other – her Christmas Pyramid – was shared with us when she passed away. She was such a sweet lady, so I love being able to share these things with my husband and the kiddos.
I also put out the super easy throw pillows欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片 I created last year from Dollar Tree stockings and a Santa hat.
This year, I added a friend to my vintage Christmas blow mold collection. This small snowman sits on the 1960s stereo cabinet that I revamped last year. I think he needs a name, but I haven’t come up with one yet!
欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片His big friend, Frosty, graces the landing on the staircase, near the handmade foil pinwheel garland that runs along our staircase railing ().
Last but not least, the vintage Santa garland that I found this year hangs from the sticks on my dining room china cabinet. Sure, those sticks and pinecones are left over from my fall decor欧美图亚洲色另类偷偷自拍_欧美成年性色生活片_欧美A一片, but don’t they work perfectly for Christmas when you add some awesome Santas? I think so.
Thanks so much for stopping by and walking through my holiday home with me! I’m the last stop on the tour today, but tomorrow you need to head over to check out Kelly’s house at !
Thank you to for organizing such a great blog tour! Stick around, because I still have more to show you. 😉
